UPDRAFT INSTALLATION OPTIONS
Updraft has grown over time to be one of our most popular kinetic sculptures and there are a vast range of available installation types as "standard" - which are detailed below. For further customisation, simply get in touch with us.
Standard Cylinder Plinth

-
This plinth is designed to accommodate the circular base plate attached to the post of the sculpture.
-
The standard cylinder plinth itself is concreted into the ground, with about 200mm above ground. The base plate then bolts to the plinth.
-
The 200mm height can vary depending on the site requirements and custom height plinths are available on request.
-
This gives the sculpture a little extra height, and an attractive round base which is easy to mow/strim around.

Stone / Rock

-
Source a large rock, which has a section at least 300mm diameter flat enough to fix the base plate of the sculpture to it.
-
Preferred method is to drill holes and Chemset threaded rods in place.
-
Dynabolts or Concrete screws can also be used if the stone is stable enough.
-
See below link for an example of this installation method.
Concrete Pad

-
Dynabolts or Chemset threaded rods into existing concrete.
-
If new concrete, we would send a template file so that that the threaded rods can be set into the wet concrete.
-
The concrete surface could visible, or be poured just shy of the ground height, and once the sculpture is in place, you could cover the pad with earth or pebbles etc, to hide the pad. This latter version means you would see just the post emerging from the ground.
